States Greffe/States Committee/States Departmental Archives. This collection came to Jersey Archive from the States Greffe. It concerns a wide variety of subjects and dates from the 19th and 20th centuries. The archive material was stored within the States building before it was refurbished. The collection has been organised by subject.
Photographs of Mr Charles Augustus Villars [left], aged 82 years old, a blacksmith for seventy years, wielding a hammer in the blacksmith's yard at the Public Health Department's Maintenance Department, La Collette with his work partner and son Mr Henry George Villars. Includes a newspaper cutting of an article in the 30 January 1997 edition of the Jersey Evening Post that contains information about Mr Charles Augustus Villars provided by his grandson, and Mr Henry George Villars' son, David George Villars.
