Sound recording of Nelley Le Bredonchel, née Hotten, speaking about the Occupation and the years after. She was interviewed on 10/02/2005 by Stuart Nicolle for the Liberation to Coronation Oral History Project. Mrs Le Bredonchel speaks about being an evacuee, leaving Jersey on a boat for Southampton and then a train to Barnesly, the living conditions there, going to school, learning about the liberation on the radio, going back to Jersey, finding their house the same as someone had looked over it, the fortifications, going to school in St Aubins and the shortage of paper, her work at Orvis bakehouse, the battle of flowers, houses, the potatoes and tomatoes crop, the St Aubins fete, her St Johns Ambulance duty, working at the crèche, the rationing after liberation, churches, the death of the king, the coronation, bakeries, and various shops
