Sound recording of Roy & Doreen Bisson speaking about the Occupation and the years after. They were interviewed on 02/12/2004 by Stuart Nicolle for the Liberation to Coronation Oral History Project. Mr Bisson speaks about the days leading up to the liberations, hearing Churchill's speech, the Union Jacks flying at La Pomme d'Or, visiting the German fortifications, the rationing after the war, the Red Cross parcels, helping during the Royal Visit and working at the airport. Mrs Bisson speaks of talking to british soldiers during the Liberation, exploring the underground hospital, working for the Public Services department and the Jersey General Investment Trust, the rationing after the war and the Royal Visit. Mr Bisson speaks about his involvement with the scouting movement and how it works, the prisoners of war, going camping, working at the Jersey Electric Compagny, his schooling, electricity and the Royal Visit as well as the visit of Field Marshal Montgomery. Mrs Bison speaks about her involvement with the Girl Guide Movement, what she did with them and what she learned, her marriage with Roy, the reception at Castle Orgeuil (now hotel Cristina), the honeymoon in Switzerland, and a protest against the Insurance act.

She was interviewed on 12/11/2004 by Stuart Nicolle for the Liberation to Coronation Oral History Project. Mrs Gully speaks about the relief at a calm liberation, her fiancée in the armed force who came back later from Southampton, their wedding and the reception with the rationing, the Red Cross parcels, going to London with her husband and waiting for his demobilisation, the surrender being signed, the British troops, her husband job at the JEC, the entertainment after the Occupation, the bus service, the battle of flowers, being a housewife, and watching the coronation on television.

Sound recording of Eileen Lerche-Thomsen, née Civray, speaking about the Occupation and the years after. She was interviewed on 11/10/2004 by Stuart Nicolle for the Liberation to Coronation Oral History Project. Mrs Lerche-Thomsen speaks about the excitement leading up to liberation day, hearing the news on crystal set, hoisting a flag, her fathers job as an electrical engineer, the soldiers arriving in Jersey and the excitement, going to school during the occupation, going to the Jersey Girl College after the occupation and taking her exams there, her involvement with the Eisteddfod and later the Green Room club, the cinema, her father putting up wallpapers in her house, her strict methodist background, going to sunday school, the opening of the shops after the occupation, going to the pool, the visit of field Marshall Montgomery, the increase of tourism, the battle of flowers, the Bouley Bay hill climb, her grandparents before, after and during the occupation, trips to London, Stratford on Avon and Paris, working at Boots during the summer and the death of the King.
