Lichens growing on a dry stone wall in St Ouen. Lichens are unique in being composed of two organisms, algae and fungi, which form a close symbiotic association. Lichens live for a very long time. In one hundred years you may still be able to view the lichen pictured. It can be found fifty paces from Le Chemin des Monts, down the last road on the left before the Dolmen de Grantez.
