Letter to William Luce from his nephew. He writes of the complicated situation with regard to the liquidation and a possible payment of 25 cents on the dollar for the creditors. He mistrusts the Warne family who he thinks will be voting as a block, he relates that they want to bring in their own liquidator who is employed by their publishing firm F Warne and Company Limited. He tells his uncles that at time of writing his sisters have not received any official notice of the meeting and liquidation.

Notice to shareholders from John P Tocque Company Secretary of William Fruing and Company Limited, a special general meeting of shareholders is to be held on Friday 1st of June 1917 at 3pm. This meeting will take into consideration and decide upon the following: The Statement of Liabilities and Assets, a copy of which is annexed; consideration to decide upon the such course of action in view of the position of of the companies affairs as shown in the aforementioned Statement of Liabilities and Assets and to consider and to decide upon the expediency of proceeding with the winding up and liquidation of the company, in such event to decide upon the appointment of a Liquidator or Liquidators.

Letter written to Uncle William Luce from W Luce in Northumberland, he relates that he has had news from Philip again. He thinks he can now lay a proposal before a meeting of shareholders which might help to save some of the wreckage and might be acceptable. He asks his uncle if he will ask Mr Tocque to call a meeting of shareholders as early as possible. He writes that he is getting his sisters to write with the same effect. He thinks that the request should be in writing, merely to be in order within the provisions of Rule 29 of the articles. He is writing to Mr Crill also. He asks that his uncle inform him about what he has done as early as possible.

Letter for creditors information introducing Andrew Dodds Fairbairn of Fairbairn Wingfield and Wykes Chartered Accountants as the appointed Liquidator of William Fruing and Company Limited. Mr P Luce of Grande Greve in the province of Quebec is appointed as Canadian Liquidator. Attention is drawn to the advertisement which appeared in The Times of London on 6th of July warning that all claims against the said company must be sworn to and filed with the said Mr Luce within 30 days. Mr Fairbairn suggests that a claim be submitted on the usual form accompanied by full particulars, and that this is sworn before a Notary Public and forwarded either direct to Mr Luce or sent to himself so that he can forward it on.He would be obliged if anyone sending a claim direct to Mr Luce would also furnish him with a copy. He adds a P.S. to the effect that he proposes to cable Mr Luce with the number and amount of claims lodged with him prior to the expiry of the 30 days

He gives notice that the meeting of British Creditors will be held on 31st of July 1917 at 12.30 at number 67 Watling Street London, for the following purposes: To receive statement of the Company's liabilities and assets; to receive and to take into consideration the resolutions passed at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the shareholders of the company on 6th June 1917 and confirmed at a further meeting held on 22nd June 1917. A copy of the resolution passed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the shareholders is attached

Letter from Andrew D Fairbairn the London liquidator of William Fruing and Co Limited to William Luce of Jersey. He writes to inform Mr Luce that at the meeting of cereditors held on the 31st of July it was explained that all the company assets were situated in Canada and there were no funds with which he might act for the body of creditors in England. It was agreed that all creditors should be invited to undertake to contribute in proportion to the amount of their claim, to an extent not exceeding £200 in all. He encloses a form of undertaking and he trusts that Mr Luce will see his way to do the same. He adds that the two largest cerditors expressed their willingness to sign the understanding.
