These images were taken for an April Fools' Day feature, in a story where the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries has suggested farmers grow rice as well as potatoes in the flooded fields around the island, so as to be sure of at least one crop growing. The rice crop is said to be intended for island use, perhaps used as the main supply of rice to the island's Chinese restaurants. Jersey Evening Post
