The images relate to the opening of Jersey Airport on the 10th March 1937 [see JEP 11/3/1937 and JWP 20/3/1937]. Images which relate to an exhibition of work by the artist Edmund Blampied held at Restaurant de Gruchy in aid of the St John Ambulance War Emergency Committee appeal during the Second World War. The exhibition was opened by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor Major General James Murray Roberts Harrison [see JWP 9/12/1939 p 4 and 7]. The images were produced from the negatives depicted in Contact Sheet 12 of Red Contact File 15 from the Jersey Evening Post (JEP) Photographic Archive.

Letter 4 from Ken [Kenneth Henry Le Sueur], Casilla 1164, Buenos Aires, Argentina to his dearest Ka [Kathleen de Carteret]. Refers to arrival in Buenos Aires after stopping at Montevideo, including details of having a meal at a restaurant at the top of the tallest skyscraper in Buenos Aires, includes comments about friends made during the course of the crossing from England, and refers to sending a bracelet and brooch to Kathleen. Includes original envelope addressed to Miss K de Carteret, South View School, Clevedon, Somerset.
