| Scope and Content | Driver and Vehicle Standards Department are responsible for the registration of vehicles in Jersey. The collection of records currently held at the Archive includes registers of motor cars and motor cycles, 1914 - 1956, including the first registration of a car in Jersey. Registering vehicles in single volumes soon became impossible in Jersey due to the amount of vehicles and number of times they changed hands. The volumes were replaced with registration cards which are now at the Archive. The cards are organised by J number and cover the period from 1957 - 1993. |
