Historic Roll of subscribers and collectors of 1,000,000 guineas for the Twentieth Century Fund. This fund was proposed in 1897 and launched in 1898 to provide funds to purchase a site in London to become a world home for methodism, nobody was allowed to donate more than 1 Guinea but they could donate on behalf of a deceased relative or a relative who had emigrated. £1073,682 was raised and building of the Westmister Wesleyan Central Hall was started in 1909, substantial funds left over were used to improve existing chapels in the British Isles and to send more missionaries overseas.
