Scope and Content | Many Channel Islanders were evacuated to Bury and Tottington in 1940 and references to them appear in a number of the local authority records. Many were housed in the council estate known locally as 'Dicky Bird' in Bury and many unaccompanied children were placed at the Danesmoor home in Bury and at Holly Mount convent in Tottington. |
