Scope and Content | Relates to meeting dated 20 May 2008 with Police legal advisor Simon Thomas regarding ongoing investigation into Jane and Alan Maguire. Lists points on which research is requested, mentioning allegations of sexual abuse by Alan Maguire, letter of discontinuance to Magistrate's Court, possible changes in circumstances since initial decision not to prosecute, behaviour of Alan Maguire, and whether new facts have arisen since the initial decision not to prosecute. Refers to liason with investigating officers, naming Nick Troy, and contact with Advocate Lakeman, acting for Jane and Alan Maguire. Comments on Advocate Binnington's opinion that the inital case was discontinued due to concerns over the credibility of the victims of Jane and Alan Maguire's abuse due to the victims' previous convictions and drug and alcohol abuse. Refers to report by Dr Carolyn Coverley citing such factors as listed above as classic signs of childhood abuse.
