Scope and Content | Relates to the discovery of an individual's body a day after his appearance with two other boys before the Police Court. Refers to Magistrate Michael Newell's initial decision not to proceed with the case against the three boys until legal representation for the boys had been secured. Comments on the individual's transfer to Haut de la Garenne, and a request by the Children's Officer [Patricia Thornton] that the individual be placed in the care of [an individual or institution]. Comments on the individual and the two other boys' appearances before the Police Court one day previously, mentioning St Saviour Centenier H C Garden's suggestion the island should have a Juvenile Court, and the Magistrate's move that the case should be heard before the Royal Court.
