| Scope and Content | Refers to a witness statement dated 11 October 2000 recorded by Detective Constable Beghin [C/D/AW1/A3/6/2/25/WD004366], noting that he has since changed his name by deed pole. Describes being contacted by Detective Constable Brian Carter in 2004 in relation to his original complaint regarding Thomas Hamon to inform him that the investigation to be re-opened. Describes being a member of St John [Ambulance], recalling occasionally performing public duties including the Battle of Flowers. Refers to sexual abuse by Thomas Hamon in the bandage room at the St John [Ambulance] Headquarters [on Midvale Road] and in Hamon's car near St Saviour's Hospital en route from St John Ambulance training to Haut de la Garenne. Refers to bedtime at Haut de la Garenne, noting he was allowed to be up later on evenings that he was at St John [Ambulance]. Recalls that Hamon never abused him when his brothers were also in the car. Also notes that he never abused when went to visit Hamon in his home, describing how he and his brothers would walk to Hamon's house after finishing school at St Helier Boys' School and before St John [Ambulance]. Includes comments about Hamon's [wife]. Refers to incidents whereby Hamon sexually abused Witness 187 on a camping trip in England in 1968 or 1969 after returning from the Royal Berkshire Hospital to receive a tetanus injection.
