Recalls visits to Haut de la Garenne as an adult, where he was shown around by a girl assumed to be a former resident. Notes the girl’s reference to a room under the stairs used by children for sexual activity. Comments on such activity as being an inevitability after introducing female residents to Haut de la Garenne, and suggests that as a result of mixing female and male residents, abusive behaviour became more likely.
