Scope and Content Refers to increased number of short term foster placements consequent to the reduction of residential provision. Describes emphasis placed on finding long-term foster homes for young children in care, referring to response to a recruitment campaign in the Jersey Evening Post and subsequent registering of new foster parents. Refers to the number of registered foster parents and outlines three categories of children difficult to place: children with special needs, children in large families and teenagers. Refers to prioritisation of the training of foster parents, referring to courses available to prospective foster parents. Also refers to increased level of support given to foster parents and enhanced Boarding Out Allowance given to foster parents for more difficult placements.
