Scope and Content • Email dated 2 March 2008 from Graham Power to Frank Walker titled Email circulated by the Health Minister. Expresses gratitude for Mr Walker's support in the Historic Abuse Enquiry, providing details regarding the number of disclosures of physical and sexual abuse. Expresses concerns regarding an email circulated by the Health Minister [Senator Stuart Syvret, Minister for Health and Social Services] in respect of its impact on the police investigation into historic child abuse and issue of political interference. Refers to an independent review of the enquiry by Andy Baker (Deputy Director, Serious and Organised Crime Agency) on behalf of the Association of Chief Police Officers. Includes response by Frank Walker stating that he advised the Health Minister and others not to interfere in the police investigation, and assurance regarding commitment to assist the Police in respect of support and resources needed to carry out their investigation and to bring guilty parties to justice.
