Scope and Content | Provides background information to the historic child abuse enquiry and his assumption of responsibility for Operation Rectangle upon his appointment as Deputy Chief Officer with the States of Jersey Police following the departure of Lenny Harper. Sets out details of perceived failings in relation to Operation Rectangle in respect of the command and control and the media strategy of the investigation as well as financial issues and investigative issues. Also includes comments about the investigation at Haut de la Garenne and details of findings of an interim report of a review of the historic child abuse investigation conducted by the Metropolitan Police. Finishes with conclusions regarding failings of command within the States of Jersey Police with regard to the enquiry and impact on the integrity, reputation and public confidence in the States of Jersey Police, and expresses concerns about previous stances, lack of dialogue and underlying organisational issues stemming for a lack of proper oversight and proper application of standard working practices. |
