Scope and Content | Application by Advocate D J Hopwood for Aubin and Advocate M L Preston for Donnelly and Wateridge to stay proceedings against them as an abuse of process in respect of the handling by the Senior Investigating Officer of the States of Jersey Police of the inquiry into historic child sex abuse having led to inaccurate media reporting and the inability for a fair trial. Sets out details of charges of various sexual offences against children with which the defendants were charged. Includes comments about the publicity surrounding the trial and wider investigation and delay to proceedings. Judgment concludes with dismissal of the application. |
