| Scope and Content | Outlines motivation for making a statement regarding Tony Watton, referring to article in the Jersey Evening Post. Describes meeting Tony Watton through his involvement in water polo, noting that from this he joined the Canoe Club when he was 12, stating that Watton was the President of the Canoe Club. Recalls several instances where Tony Watton acted inappropriately towards him and other young members of the Canoe Club in 1973 or 1974. Includes recollections of camping trips with Tony Watton and the Canoe Club in Jersey at St Catherine, Crabbé and Egypt, describing instances where Watton would incite children to indecently expose themselves, drink alcohol and smoke, indecently expose himself in front of children and would also get a woman to indecently expose herself in front of the children. Also refers to incidents where Watton made sexual advances on him and attempted to sexually abuse him. Also includes a description of Watton's physical appearance and his car, and describes an incident in Watton's house where Watton attempted to sexually abuse him and which reuslted in him not wanting to go camping again and to lose interest in the Canoe Club. Describes witnessing Watton behave inappropriately around another boy. Makes a complaint about Tony Watton regarding sexual abuse and for incidents relating to the time he was a member of the Canoe Club. |
