Scope and Content	Relates to a complaint of historic sexual abuse made by a former resident of Clos des Sables Family Group against Leslie Hughes relating to the time she was in care between July 1969 and January 1981. Includes details of the circumstances behind the placement of her and her siblings at Clos des Sables and recollections of the property, other children in residence and staff including [the houseparents] and Witness 283. Includes details of sexual abuse by Leslie Hughes in four locations: the loft, Hughes' boat, Hughes' car and her bed. Includes details of three specific incidents of sexual abuse. Refers to increase of abuse whilst Hughes was unemployed and states that abuse became less frequent when another female resident arrived to whom Hughes' attention became drawn. Refers to her being ill for a period of 18 months and to her making a statement to the police in March 1988, noting that she did not sign it due to being scared of the consequences. Also refers to her speaking to WPC Davey on 26 May 2001, noting her inability to record a statement and remarks about the impact of trauma she suffered. Includes a note in manuscript dated 7 November 2001 noting willingness of the individual to make a statement to get over the trauma of the matter and reference to her being informed that the Police cannot investigate the matter as Hughes has been convicted. Also includes a note in manuscript referring the examination of the original case papers and comment about no further evidence having come to light.
