Scope and Content Includes background information about himself, referring to his move to Jersey in 1977, seasonal work up until his marriage in 1979, commencement of employment with the Prison Service in October 1979 serving at La Moye Prison, and subsequent appointments in 1987 and 1994. Details role in training prison officers in Guernsey, Isle of Man and Gibraltar and his involvement in the opening and running of the Young Offenders Wing based on the Lancaster Farm model. Describes being asked by the Home Affairs Minister to work at Greenfields in 2003 due to difficulties with regard to the behaviour and control of some of the residents. Comments on the policy of the courts at the time in respect of remanding children to Greenfields, describing the use and conditions of the detention rooms upon his arrival. Refers to his role in the introduction the Grand Prix System in October 2003, and includes a description of how the Grand Prix System worked and the intended purpose and aims of the system. Describes the regime under his predecessor, detailing understanding that his predecessor was responsible for a clear out and details responsibility of his predecessor and Danny Wherry for the instruction of staff in TCI [Therapeutic Crisis Intervention] techniques prior to his arrival. Describes TCI instruction during his time at Greenfields. Refers to his official appointment to a position at Greenfields in October 2004 and assertion that he has never witnessed any abusive or inappropriate behaviour by staff towards residents or vice-versa during his time at Greenfields. Comments on the use of the cells during his time at Greenfields and states to have never met Stuart Syvret.
