Scope and Content	Refers to a decline in the need for long-term residential places. Includes a comparison of occupancy figures in relation to Haut de la Garenne, Group Homes, La Préférence, Brig-y-Don and hostels as at 29 February 1984 to the average figures for the three year period from 1981 to 1983, and details the recommendations of the Children's Sub-Committee regarding the use of residential accommodation. Refers to the decision of the Vegetarian Society to discontinue La Préférence and the possible acquisition of the property by the Education Committee as use as a children's home.
