| Scope and Content | • Ex-CID chief defends failure to act on 2006 abuse report. Relates to comments made by former police officer André Bonjour in his evidence to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry defending a decision not to launch an investigation into historical sexual abuse in 2006, stating a scoping report by Detective Inspector Peter Hewlett into Haut de la Garenne lacked information and that the force could not proceed at the time. Also includes denial by Mr Bonjour of allegations that he tipped off a suspect in a child pornography case who was a member of the Jersey Sea Cadets. • Child abuse: 'Lack of local expertise'. Relates to comments made by former Deputy Trevor Pitman in his evidence to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry that the States of Jersey do not care about children and do not like to acknowledge that there are child protection issues in Jersey. Also includes claims that key evidence important to the Inquiry's investigation had gone missing, and comments about the Jersey Way.
