These files give details of the appointment of Major General Harrison to the post of Lieutenant Governor of Jersey in 1939. They include notes from the previous Lieutenant Governor, Major General Horace de Courcy Martelli on the defence situation in the Islands in 1939 and the role of the Lieutenant Governor.
