Scope and Content

Gives details about the circumstances surrounding her son being admitted to Les Chênes in 2002. Expresses anger at response to the report by the Howard League for Penal Reform, particularly with respect to claims that children were not held in solitary confinement as per the findings of the Howard League Report and accounts given by Witness 65, her son and other former residents at Les Chênes. Gives details of conditions at Les Chênes, impact of sustained time spent in solitary confinement on son in terms of developing depression and self-harming. Describes son being prescribed large amount of medication by the consultant General Practitioner at Les Chênes and attempts to obtain treatment in the United Kingdom for her son.
