Lists points on which research is requested, mentioning allegations of sexual abuse by Alan Maguire, letter of discontinuance to Magistrate's Court, possible changes in circumstances since initial decision not to prosecute, behaviour of Alan Maguire, and whether new facts have arisen since the initial decision not to prosecute. Refers to liason with investigating officers, naming Nick Troy, and contact with Advocate Lakeman, acting for Jane and Alan Maguire. Comments on Advocate Binnington's opinion that the inital case was discontinued due to concerns over the credibility of the victims of Jane and Alan Maguire's abuse due to the victims' previous convictions and drug and alcohol abuse. Refers to report by Dr Carolyn Coverley citing such factors as listed above as classic signs of childhood abuse. Criticises decision of Attorney General [Michael Birt] to discontinue the case against Jane and Alan Maguire in 1998, citing undue emphasis on the characters of the victims, and inaction of Prosecution Advocate Ian Christmas. Comments on defence witnesses for Jane and Alan Maguire, testing of defence evidence, and alleged terminal illness of Alan Maguire. Refers to Magistrate Judge Trott, and Mr Harris, and the Royal Court. Mentions internal hearing after Court case against Jane and Alan Maguire was dropped in which Jane Maguire was found guilty of emotional and physical abuse. Comments on Alan Maguire's knowledge on allegation of sexual abuse against him by a former resident at [Blanche Pierre Family Group Home], and Alan Maguire's absence from Jersey since the late 1990s. Refers to new allegations of sexual abuse by Alan Maguire, and new allegations of emotional and physical abuse by Jane and Alan Maguire.
