Refers to contact with States of Jersey Police following Jersey Evening Post article dated 3 November 2005 relating to [former Haut de la Garenne member of staff] Thomas Hamon’s appearance before the Magistrates Court on charges relating to indecency towards children. Recalls speaking with Detective Constable Parker of the Child Protection Team regarding Thomas Hamon’s employment at Haut de la Garenne and his wife. Details referral to Detective Constable Brian Carter. Details residency at Haut de la Garenne during the early 1960s, when he was between the ages of eight and eleven. Recalls second period of residency at Haut de la Garenne at age of thirteen. Describes layout of Haut de la Garenne, mentioning the junior dormitory, stairs, dining hall, and room of a female member of staff. Lists other children sharing his dormitory, mentioning suicide of one. Details sexual abuse [by Thomas Hamon] and a female member of staff. Details difficulties in relationships following abuse, and reluctance to confide in other residents whilst at Haut de la Garenne. Recalls confiding in Doctor Ellis of 51 David Place about the abuse [as an adult].
