Provides statistics with respect to the number of children in residence at Haut de la Garenne as at 30 November 1971, and the number of children in residence during [September 1971]. Refers to the Senior Group, Junior Groups A, B and C. Gives details about the admissions of seven children for reasons including mother's admission to hospital, foster home breakdon, remand from the Royal Court, residential remand for assessment and psychiatric reports and remand pending a hearing at the Royal Court. Notes that one boy died the morning after his admission to Haut de la Garenne. Gives details about the discharges of eight children, including children discharged to the care of their parents, to the JAYF [Jersey Association for Youth and Friendship] Hostel, to residential employment and to home on trial following stabilsation of home situation. Refers to the death of one child. Also includes general matters about children, noting Witness 348's appearance at the Royal Court on several charges of larceny. Refers to the confirmation of a Fit Person Order by the Royal Court and application made by the Education Committee for Witness 348's transfer to a Community Home on the mainland. Names the Department of Health and Social Security as the central body responsible for Community Home placements.
