Starts with Detective Inspector Bray outlining the purpose of the interview, noting that he is a member of the Historical Abuse Team investigating alleged offences that took place in several institutions in Jersey. Refers to a previous preliminary conversation on 13 December  between Witness 396 and Detective Constable Lynn Lang. Follows by Witness 396 providing an overview of her experiences in care, primarily with reference to her time at Haut de la Garenne. Mentions Mr [Gordon] Wateridge and a female member of staff at Haut de la Garenne, giving details of sexual abuse by Wateridge on the snooker table at the home. Includes a discussion about Witness 396's background. Refers to the circumstances of Witness 396 and her siblings being placed in Haut de la Garenne, citing mother's inability to cope with her children due to mental health problems. Recalls being at Haut de la Garenne with siblings intermittently over a period of 18 years. Also recalls residence in other institutions including Brig-y-Don and [Westaway] Crèche. Recalls abuse as having happened on two or three occasions, stating to have been alone with Wateridge on each occasion. Asserts to have never told anybody about the abuse by Wateridge, nor heard of similar abuse happening to other people. Comments on lack of consent given by Witness 396 to Wateridge and Wateridge's awareness of the inappropiateness of his actions. Notes that Wateridge would stop abusing Witness 396 if someone came into the [snooker] room. Asserts to have not told anyone, including her husband, staff or fellow residents, about the abuse she suffered whilst at Haut de la Garenne until contact with the police in relation to the [historic child abuse] inquiry. Gives details of sexual abuse and physical abuse by another man in a tent when Witness 396 was aged 10. Describes how the man threatened to kill Witness 396 if she told anyone about the incident, noting that he held a knife to her throat. Describes being too scared to report the incident, naming her husband as the only person to have told about it. Refers to seeing the man since the incident and pointing him out to her husband 9 or 10 years before at the time of the interview.
