1. Haut de la Garenne Superintendent's Report relating to a meeting to be held at the Education Department, Pier Road on 9 December 1970 Provides statistics with respect to the number of children in residence at Haut de la Garenne as at 30 November 1970, and the number of children in residence during [November 1970]. Refers to the Senior Group, Junior Groups A, B and C. Gives details about the admissions of five children including a child admitted under a Place of Safety Order signed by the Bailiff due to allegations of him being neglected, admissions of children because of their mother's desertion and a girl transfered from her foster home due to foster mother's inability to cope. Also includes details about the discharges of seven children, including children discharged by Order of the Juvenile Court, a child placed with prospective adopters, a child withdrawn by her mother on agreement of her medical advisors, a child returned to the care of his foster mother and a child returned home on advice of the Probation Office following re-housing of his parents. Includes general matters concerning children, including recommendation that a pupil at St Helier Girls' School be allowed to join a school cruise to Scandinavian countries and the USSR, partly funded by contribution from the Children's Benefit Funds. Also includes general matters, referring to a dinner with the children and members of the Education Committee.
