Outlines purpose of statement, noting request by the Police to cover any contact she has had with a former female resident at Haut de la Garenne or an other witnesses in the case against Gordon Wateridge. Describes how she came to make her original complaint, recalling seeing news coverage in 2008 regarding an investigation into child abuse at Haut de la Garenne. Describes deliberating over decision to come forward for one or two weeks before contacting the Police. Asserts to have had no contact with any other residents of Haut de la Garenne since leaving the home and prior to making her complaint to the Police. Recalls attempts to make contact with people on social network websites such as Friends Reunited and Jersey Beans, noting lack of success. Gives details of initial contact with the Police, referring to a conversation with a female officer whereby Witness 397 named Mr Wateridge as the man who abused her but was unable to recall his first name. Refers to association with a Facebook site since 2 March 2009 as a means of getting in touch and reuniting with former residents at Haut de la Garenne. Refers also to first statement given to the Police on 4 March  [C/D/AW1/B1/2/1/42/WS000251], mentioning a Scottish police officer named Stevie [Detective Constable Stephen Monaghan], and noting that she had not spoken to anybody about her experiences before giving this statement. Gives details of contact with former residents via the Facebook site, including a former female resident at Haut de la Garenne. Refers to having allowed the Police to obtain physical copies all Facebook messages and email correspondence with this former resident. Also refers to infrequent telephone conversations and text messages with this former resident, noting general nature of discussion. Describes being contacted by the press to give her story shortly after her association with the Facebook site began. Recalls her refusal to speak to the press, citing her awareness of that press contact could jeopardise the case [against Wateridge] and her lack of interest in money. Notes desire for justice and closure, stating to have looked into options for compensation but ultimately declining.
