Refers to Witness 170's committal to the care of the Education Committee on 17 December 1971 and residence at Haut de la Garenne thereafter. Refers to Witness 170 being involved in a car crash after he absconded from Haut de la Garenne on 30 January 1972, and subsequent detainment in the General Hospital since. Notes that the driver of the car was found guilty of driving without insurance, driving recklessly and exceeding the speed limit by the Police Court. Refers to details of Witness 170's injuries provided by Mr Myles. Seeks advice as to whether the Education Committee could claim compensation for injuries received by Witness 170.
