Refers to an accident report received from Haut de la Garenne [C/D/AW1/A3/6/2/28/WD002590]. Refers to discussions between Smith and the Director of Education regarding their investigation into an accident whereby Witness 192 was scalded by hot water from an overturned water jug. Refers to contact with Mr Syvret, Treasury regarding an insurance company and arrangements for Mr [Jim] Thomson to contact [Witness 192's] parents. Describes being informed by Mr Getliff that the contents of the accident report received from Haut de la Garenne were incorrect, referring to a memorandum noting that the accident was not caused by someone pulling off a tablecloth but by someone bumping against the table [C/D/AW1/A3/6/2/28/WD002535]. Details normal morning routine at Haut de la Garenne, and the circumstances by which Witness 192 was scalded by water after an older child bumped against a table causing a water jug to overturn. Notes that a male member of staff witnessed the incident whilst supervising in the dining room and took Witness 192 to hospital. Expresses satisfaction that the children were adequately supervised.
