Scope and Content

Refers to sexual abuse of a boy by a man, mentioning a boat. Refers to their knowledge of Haut de la Garenne as a children's home, and recalls going to Haut de la Garenne at the weekend to collect children for [a weekend visit]. Recalls Haut de la Garenen [Superintendent] Jim Thomson, and refers to [Senior Child Care Officer at Children's Services] Anton Skinner. States that they are not a member of the [Jersey] Care Leavers Association, and that they have not joined discussion groups on Facebook to discuss Haut de la Garenne. Provides recollections of children in care at Haut de la Garenne who the invidual did not foster, also mentioning a group home in St Clement [Blanche Pierre Family Group Home], and the houseparents [Jane] and [Alan] Maguire. Refers to physical abuse of children by [Jane] and [Alan] Maguire. Recalls fostering Witness 381 from Haut de la Garenne in 1984, and the clash of personalities between Witness 381 and another girl being fostered by the witness. Recalls Witness 381 stating that she did not like Morag [Jordan] who would physically abuse [Haut de la Garenne residents]. Recalls taking children for caravan holidays without the presence of Haut de la Garenne staff.
