• Letter dated 4 July 1979 from B Chappell, Senior Child Care Officer to [Child Care Officer]. Refers to in-service training to be provided by Eirlys Williams as part of the Education Department's training programmes on 25 and 26 July , at Haut de la Garenne and Highlands. Refers to training regarding residential care, particularly in relation to work with adolescent girls, and issues including communicating with those with mental illness and casework with parents of children with disabilities. • Letter dated 4 July 1979 from B Chappell, Senior Child Care Officer to Mrs E Williams, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Work. Refers to previous correspondence from Mrs Williams confirming her visit to Jersey. Details request of the Children's Officer that Mrs Williams take two training sessions during her visit, noting desire of Haut de la Garenne staff for information regarding the management of teenage girls, and suggests intermediate treatment as a useful topic of discussion. Suggests that arrangements be made for interested Officers from the Probation Service and other outside agencies to attend the training subject to agreement.
