|Scope and Content|
Outlines the period under review, referring to a consolidation of aspects of the [Adolescent Service] Team's work with young people, particularly preparing children for life in foster families. Major Areas of Work: Refers to structural work carried out at the Heathfield site resulting in some activity groups being curtailed, including relocation of the operation to the Crabbé Activity Centre. Includes statistics with respect to work carried out with children and families in residential care, shared care, activity groups, respite care and families in casework support. Training: Refers to workshops led by Pat Curis, regular sessions at the Teachers Centre led by Ms [Dorothy] Inglis for staff enrolled on an Open University course and identification of individual training to take place at [National Children's Home] Stevenson [Stephenson] Hall and plans to set up a workshop in 1990 addressing issues regarding development of sexual identity. Structural Alterations: Refers to work to construct a Play Therapy Room adjacent to the garages and internal work to create a small increase in residential capacity. The Hostel Project: Refers to the opening of a Hostel, outlining areas of work and reference to first referrals to the Hostel.
