Includes recollections of the house she lived in as a child, referring to the garden, shed, kitchen, lounge, bathroom, bedrooms and toilet. Recalls that there was a cabinet in the kitchen that contained her mother's medication and sleeping tablets and describes the lounge as her father's space which contained his antiques and coin collection. Recalls going to Haut de la Garenne to collect [her half-sibling] and seeing Mrs Thornton in her office. Describes upbringing as violent and abusive, stating that her mother and father would hit her for misbehaviour and never showed her any affection. Describes physical and emotional abuse by both parents. Also includes positive recollections of going to the beach or Havre des Pas bathing pool. Describes a particular incident where her father physically abused her by punching her in the stomach. Describes sexual abuse by her father. Recalls first incident where was indecently assaulted by her father, recalling that it happened in her parents' bed during a thunderstorm when she was between 6 and 8 years old. Includes an account of the incident and a description of her parents' bedroom. Recalls numerous other incidents of her father sexually abusing her when she was aged between 11 and 15, including an incident where she was aged 13 or 14. Also describes feeling uncomfortable about her father's actions during bath time. Describes various incidents and related experiences during her childhood. Recalls going to Sunday School and playing after school and recollections of contact with father's family and friends. Describes incident where her father may have sexually abused her after having accused her of being sexually active. Recalls being told that she pregnant when she was aged 15, describing response of her school to attempt to conceal the pregnancy and reaction of her mother and her father to news of her pregnancy. Refers to suggestion by Mrs Hunt from Social Services that she go to a convent in the United Kingdom to have the baby and then put it up for adoption and subsequently being forced to sign papers to that effect. Describes birth of her child, recalling how it was taken away from her immediately, and outlines her belief that her father was the father of her child. Recalls taking her examinations shortly after giving birth before having a breakdown and being taken over to England by her mother. Describes change of circumstances upon return to Jersey, recalling an argument between her parents regarding her father seeing [another woman] resulting in her father leaving. Recalls vandalising her father's flat and personal items in reaction. Recalls getting a job soon after and living in a room above the shop and losing contact with her father for a few years. Includes comments about her father's new partner, remarks about her mother's first marriage and comments about her parents' relationship. Also includes details of a discussion about [her child], noting that [the child] was refostered after the foster mother committed suicide. Describes regaining contact with [her child] when they were an adult and comments about their relationship. Expresses wish to make a formal complaint in relation to the assaults by her father.
