Date | 2014 - 2014 |
Scope and Content | Refers to shock and anger expressed by a former resident of Sacré Coeur Orphanage regarding allegations made to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry about the nuns who ran the home. Includes comments by the individual stating that she never saw any abuse during her time at Sacré Coeur, and that children were not made to work and were provided with good clothing. Notes that these comments are a response to allegations by a woman who lived at Sacré Coeur in the 1950s that children had been locked in a room overnight as punishment, children making labels for clothes in a knitwear factory and remarks about clothing given to children. Includes a photograph of Sacré Coeur. |
