1. Application Form: Personal details: Born in Jersey in 1946. Details of care: States to have been in the full-time residential care of the States of Jersey at Haut de la Garenne [Jersey Home for Boys] between 1953 and 1956. States that he was put into the Home by his mother. States that there were over 100 boys at the Home at the time. Abuse alleged to have taken place: States that children were addressed by a number or a name. Describes emotional and physical abuse whilst at the Home and physical injuries sustained because of abuse. Recalls one male member of staff who was a perpretator of the abuse. Complaints of abuse: States that he did not complain about abuse, citing young age and fear of more physical abuse. States that he did disclose abuse to his mother but that she is now dead. Refers to having had to have an operation on his ear since leaving the Home. Criminal Proceedings: States that he has never been approached by the police, noting that he did not suffer sexual abuse but rather sustained physical and emotional abuse.
