Refers to the Family Group Home at Nicholson Park, explanation of the roles of the house mother and house father and permittance for houseparents to have their own dependents. Includes comments about the voluntary sector, referring to the closure of Teighmore and departure of Barnado's children by 1957 and continuation of the Sacré Orphanage and Brig-y-Don Convalescent and Holiday Home, commenting on the impact of the development of Haut de la Garenne in 1960s on Sacré Coeur. Also refers to the establishment of La Préférence Vegetarian Children's Home by the Vegetarian Society in 1953 and establishment of the Children's Department in 1959. Refers to the establishment of Family Group Homes, development and evolution of fostering services (both private fostering and States of Jersey foster care or boarded out care).
