1. Statement taken by Detective Sergeant Roger Pryke on 25 June 1997. Refers to attendance at Le Rocquier School and residence for 4 years with his foster mother. States that prior to living with his foster mother, he lived at the [Family Group] Home at Blanche Pierre Close run by Alan and Jane Maguire, stating that they were known as Big Alan and Jane to all of the children who lived there. Recalls other members of staff and other children in residence at Blanche Pierre. Includes recollections of life at Blanche Pierre, describing his memory of his time there as being largely negative. States that Alan Maguire would discipline residents for misbehaviour or for not eating food. Describes incidences of physical abuse by Alan Maguire, including hitting the former resident with a slipper whilst camping, washing children's mouths out with soap and force feeding children food at mealtimes. Includes comments about Jane Maguire's presence during these incidents. 2. Statement recommenced on 20 November 1997 by Detective Constable N Troy in Interview Room 1, Police Headquarters in the presence of Danny Wherry, Children's Service. Describes being hit on numerous occasions by Alan Maguire using a red slipper or a wooden spoon as punishment for misbehaviour. Also describes witnessing other individuals having been hit by Alan. Includes further details about being force fed meals by Alan on numerous occasions and details about a house punishment of Alan wash children's mouths out with soap. Describes incident where Alan hit him with his hand leaving marks and recollections of a punishment whereby children had stand by the front door for a period of time at night. Also recalls receiving pocket money. Includes comments about Jane Maguire being present during abuse but never attempting to intervene or stop Alan.
