Refers to an Order in Council before the Royal Court confirming an Acts of the States in relation to the transfer to the States of the Jersey Female Orphans' Home. • Letter to the Editor of the Evening Post from J Hooper Valpy, Honorary Secretary, c. 14 December 1939. Includes remarks about a Nativity play performed by children at the [Jersey Female Orphans'] Home. • Article in the entitled Physical Culture and Dancing: Annual Display by Island School: Full house at Playhouse, c. 1939. Refers to a performance by pupils of the Island School of Physical Culture and Dancing presented by Miss Elsie Larcombe. Refers to performances by girls from the Jersey Girls' Home, a performance by Stella Simpson and a spoken introduction by Joan Norman. • Letter to the Editor of the Evening Post from P K Preston, Honorary Treasurer, Children's Benefit Fund. Expresses thanks to the Jersey Home for Girls for their monetary contribution to the Children's Benefit Fund from proceeds of a collection taken at concert produced and performed by girls at the Home.
