Scope and Content | • Photographs of staff and children at Sacré Coeur Orphanage. • Temps passé newscutting from the Jersey Evening Post dated 18 May 2001. Features a photograph of children from various children's homes including Sacré Coeur, La Préférence, Home for Boys and Home for Girls with crew aboard HMS Boxer in 1955. Refers to a pageant in 1955 featuring members of the crew of HMS Boxer who dressed up as pirates and invited aboard children from the various children's homes in the island. • Photograph of a plaque donated by a former resident of Sacré Coeur displayed at the entrance to the former site of Sacré Coeur Orphanage in Rouge Bouillon. Reads: In Honour of the Sisters of La Sainte-Famille d'Amiens and the Sacré-Coeur Orphanage for their unconditional love, kindness and service to generations of children in need between 1901-1996. Includes a quote in French from Matthew 25:40. |
