Discusses matters raised in the report of the Superintendent of Haut de la Garenne for February 1968, noting the number of children in residence and the total number of children resident in the Home in the month. Also refers to matters regarding children in care including behaviour problems of a resident of Haut de la Garenne. Comments on the removal of overhead wires above the swimming pool [at Haut de la Garenne], the imminent deliver of a new Ford mini bus for use at Haut de la Garenne, summary of a report submitted by the Superintendent of Haut de la Garenne regarding the use of detention rooms and repair works needed on three tents on permanent loan to Haut de la Garenne. Refers to a planned visit to Haut de la Garenne on 25 April 1968 by James Callaghan MP, Secretary of State for the Home Office accompanied by the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Villiers. Notes decision that the Press and Channel Television should be asked not to take pictures of individual children. Also refers to dissatisfaction expressed following an inspection of the swimming pool, requesting that the area is tidied in time for the visit of the Home Secretary.
