Provides details about his background, experience and overview of his employment with the States of Jersey Police for 25 years, particularly in relation to his role as acting Chief Inspector responsible for the Criminal Justice Department from 2005. Provides details about his role and responsibilities, referring to membership of the Operation Management Team. Sets out details of management meetings set up by John Pearson to discuss personnel issues, resource issues and planning issues. States that he became the head of the Criminal Investigation Department in May 2007, taking over from André Bonjour as the Detective Chief Inspector. Asserts that prior to this role, he was unaware of any issues raised in respect of a possible criminal investigation being required into allegations of historic child abuse at Haut de la Garenne. States that no report was submitted and no discussions raised about a possible investigation regarding issues around Haut de la Garenne during the meetings that he attended. Refers to lack of note in relation to Haut de la Garenne in his daybook for the period around 2006.
