Sound recording of Harry Baudains speaking about the Occupation and the years after. He was interviewed on 08/10/2004 by Stuart Nicolle for the Liberation to Coronation Oral History Project. Mr Baudains speak about the last weeks of the occupation, the Kings speech, electricity cuts, the celebrations in Liberation square, having a radio, the Royal Visit, his time at Victoria College before and after the liberations, the farming before, during and after the Occupation, the horse drawn equipment during the war and machineries after the war, having a lorry, collecting seaweed on the beaches, an attempted escape to England, going to town during the occupation, participating in activities with the Young Farmers Club, going to Germany and Austria, his involvement with the Battle of Flowers, joining the honorary police, the international road race, the death of the king and the coronation, television, the clean up of the island, school sports, the draught of '47 and the transport and selling of tomatoes.
