States that his statement is in response to an article in the Jersey Evening Post on 21 October 2001 asking for anyone with any knowledge of Anthony Watton. Recalls two incidents regarding Watton relating to 1979 or 1980 when he was aged 14 and a member of Jersey Canoe Club during which time Watton was the club president. Describes the first incident, stating that he witnessed Watton asleep with another of the other boys in that boy's bunk during a trip to Egypt in Trinity, noting that Watton was the only adult supervising ten children on the trip and that Watton had encouraged the children to drink alcohol. Also describes a second incident where he saw Watton in an unnamed boy's sleeping bag possibly committing an act of sexual abuse against the boy during a Jersey Canoe Club trip to Dinan in France. States that he gave up canoeing as a result of the second incident, noting that he has since occasionally seen Watton in Studio 18 when collecting pictures. Also includes recollections of comments made about Watton by another adult on the trip referred to in the second incident.
