• Proposition. Asks whether the States are of the opinion to endorse the strategy for concerted and co-ordinated action to reduce the harm to indviduals and the community caused by the misuse of alcohol and to approve the key strategic aims set out in the Alcohol Strategy for Jersey and related matters. • Report. Sets out background information, explains the need for an alcohol strategy and outlines the principles of the alcohol strategy with regard to: taxation and prices, licensing, community safety, drink-driving, the promotion of alcohol, changing attitudes through campaigns to promote responsible drinking, support and treatment and under-age consumption. Sets out details of resources in respect of the cost of the implementation the Alcohol Strategy and finishes with a conclusion about the proposals contained in the Alcohol Strategy. • An Alcohol Strategy for Jersey. Details background information and explains the current need for an alcohol strategy. Includes a table outlining types of problems including physical, psychological and social problems. Outlines the administrative framework proposed to co-ordinate the implementation of the strategy, describes the core principles and operational aims, and details objectives and targets in respect of taxation and prices, licensing, community safety, drink-driving, the promotion of alcohol, changing attitudes through campaigns to promote responsible drinking, support and treatment and under-age consumption. Also sets out details of the success criteria and finishes with a conclusion about the proposals contained in the Alcohol Strategy. Also includes a bibliography and sections on alcohol taxation, a review of the Licensing (Jersey) Law 1974, environmental design, underage consumption, circulation and respondent lists, and the prioritised key proposals of the Draft Alcohol Strategy.
