Scope and Content

States that he is currently serving a 12 year prison sentence at La Moye Prison having been convicted for rape and for the indecent assault of two underage girls, noting his plea of not guilty. Includes comments about Haut de la Garenne, recalling hearing rumours as a schoolboy that people would visit the Home at night to sexually abuse children. Describes the physical and emotional abuse of children at the Home as an open secret in Jersey. Describes his impression of Haut de la Garenne as regimented and controlling and comments about staff including Anthony and Morag Jordan. Refers to an allegation made against him that he had had consensual sexual intercourse with a female, stating that the complainant subsequently withdrew the allegation on the basis that it was falsified and that he was informed that he was exonerated by the Police and the Children's Service of any wrongdoing. Includes comments about the police handling of Operation Rectangle, referring to his arrests in September and October 2009 following allegations of sexual abuse made against him by two females. Outlines suspicion that the police authored both witness statements, highlighting similarities between the two statements in content and structure. Refers to an additional charge of possession of indecent images of children added shortly before his trial, noting this charge was not pursued following his conviction for rape and indecent assault. Includes comments about how the media have conflated his case with Haut de la Garenne by portraying the allegations against him as linked to Haut de la Garenne, referring to the publication of a photograph of him by Channel TV in news reports about the compensation scheme for victims of abuse in States-run children's homes. States that he had no connection to Haut de la Garenne. Outlines suspicion that the press conflated historic abuses with accusations of abuse at Haut de la Garenne in order to hide abuse. Refers to complaints made to Ofcom about the Channel TV coverage and to Chris Bright at the Jersey Evening Post for inaccurate use of the term paedophiles. Includes comments about a number of aspects of his trial which gave him cause for concern, including: membership of the jury, his lawyer's change of approach during the trial, the length of his sentence, and the decision to charge him for the prosecution's legal costs due to him having pleaded not guilty. Also refers to incidents where he and his family have received implied threats since his imprisonment. Finishes with reflections on his experiences, outlining belief of the existence of an unelected minority that runs Jersey who are protected at all costs, rferring to absolute power and lack of accountability of the Bailiff, Attorney General and the Honorary Police. Also includes comments about the role of freemasonry, referring to people in senior positions of the government, the courts, the police and the honorary police. Describes Operation Rectangle as a multi-million pound witch hunt to cover up those who protected an organised network of paedophiles.
