Provides details of early life prior to admission to Haut de la Garenne, and later admission to Les Chênes [Residential School]. Recalls living with father, grandparents, and silbings until the age of 7. Recalls setting fire to his school. Recalls living at a bed and breakfast at the time with father and sibling. Recalls setting fire to the bed and breakfast by accident. States that father told him to leave the house and go to [Jersey Home for Boys] at Gorey. Recalls arrival at Haut de la Garenne, and placement in the detention rooms. Recalls sexual abuse in the detention rooms. Made a complaint regarding the sexual abuse to a member of staff. Recalls being instructed to look after young babies at Haut de la Garenne. Did not go to school at the time. Refers to subsequent sexual abuse. Discusses long term consequences of sexual abuse on the resident's mental health. Spoke to sibling following sibling's interview with Police. Told sibling about [sexual abuse], noting that previously the resident had not disclosed the [sexual abuse] to others. Does not recall the sibling being at Haut de la Garenne.
